Fully quantal (γ, 2e) calculations for absolute differential cross sections of helium

چکیده
Abstract The formulation of the time-dependent close-coupling method is extended so that energy and angle differential cross sections for the double photoionization of helium may be obtained. The fully quantal method now yields absolute total integral, energy differential, and angle differential cross sections. A detailed comparison is made with the absolute synchrotron measurements of Bräuning et al (1998 J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 31 5149–60) for triple differential cross sections at 20 eV excess photon energy. The agreement between theory and experiment is excellent.

Post - Prior discrepancies in CDW - EIS calculations for ion impact ionization fully differential cross sections
In this work we present fully differential cross sections (FDCSs) calculations using post and prior version of CDW–EIS theory for helium single ionization by 100 MeV C 6+ amu −1 and 3.6 MeV amu −1 Au 24+ and Au 53+ ions. We performed our calculations for different momentum transfer and ejected electron energies. The influence of internuclear potential on the ejected electron spectra is taken in...
متن کاملNuclear-Charge Screening in Positronium Formation from Helium Atoms
An analytical treatment of the electron screening effect within an active-electron model is given for positronium formation from helium atoms. A first-order distorted wave approximation with correct boundary conditions is applied to evaluate the transition amplitude. In the range of impact energy for which the introduced perturbative approach is valid, both the total and differential cross sect...
متن کاملComparison of Theoretical and Absolute Experimental Fully - Differential Cross Sections for Ion - Atom Impact - Ionization
We report fully differential cross section (FDCS) calculations and absolute measurements for ion-atom impact ionization. Using the COLTRIMS (cold target recoil ion momentum spectroscopy) method, we have obtained absolute FDCS both in the scattering plane as well as out of the scattering plane for 100 MeV/amu C ionization of helium. FDCS results are presented for different projectile scattering ...
متن کاملImpact parametermethod calculations for fully differential ionization cross sections
In this work our previous fully differential ionization cross section calculations using the semiclassical, impact parameter method are improved by a new method suitable to calculate impact parameter values corresponding to different momentum transfers. This goal is achieved by two successive steps. First, using the transverse momentum balance different projectile scattering angles are calculat...
متن کاملAbsolute triply differential (e, 2e) cross sections for He in the intermediate energy region with comparison to theory
Absolute triply differential (e, 2e) cross section measurements are presented for He at incident energies E0 = 32.6, 44.6, 64.6, and 104.6 eV with equal energy sharing and the θ12 = π configuration. Results of distorted partial-wave calculations agree with the measurements; those of convergent close-coupling calculations agree with the relative angular distributions, and with absolute values af...
